In 2016, Wabash Valley Football Coaches’ Association President, Greg Barrett had a vision that the teams within the WVFCA could pull together to help support children who find themselves in the fight of their lives against this horrific disease. Each year over 11,000 children will be diagnosed with some form of cancer and unfortunately right now about 25% will not survive.
During the month of September, over 34 elementary schools, middle schools, high schools colleges and organizations in Indiana and Illinois have pulled together to honor the memory of Patrick Barrett, son of Greg and Molly Barrett.
Participating schools flooded their schools and gridirons with gold shoestrings, Tackle Childhood Cancer t-shirts and held Miracle Minutes. Since 2016, these teams have pulled together to raise over $300,000 for the PS We Love You Fund.
We continue to strive towards our goal of $100,000 raised in just one month.
